The story of Oloko

Hello Olokians

Since Olokos return, weve often heard questions from the community about how its possible that we live on a turtle, and whether its always been this way. The answer is no, it hasnt always been this way. Im sure some of you can still remember your first day on Oloko. You were stranded on the turtle Oloko in a boat. There you met Olokos oldest companion, the wise tree.

Exactly, he told you that the island where the Olokians previously lived sank overnight, and the inhabitants lost everything they had ever built. Every Olokian should know their past well. Thats why the wise tree continues to tell you the story a little bit during you complete the quests on Oloko.

This is a very sad story, dear Olokans, but the curious among you who dont want to complete the quests first can read the full story now. Simply click on "How the Island Sinks" in the menu on the right side of the blog.

January summary

Hello Olokians,

1 month ago Oloko returned! A lot has happened on Oloko since then. Marla, please summarize it briefly for us.

I'd love to do that!
-> The tutorial returned.
->
The cell phone has been expanded to include new apps.

-> Many new plants & products to collect have been added.

-> Heidi, Bernard and Rosegreen's beginner jobs have returned.

-> There was a small winter/Christmas event at Sugarpeak.
->
The rooms have been improved.

-> Most of the bugs found have been fixed.

Wow! A lot happened there. And there's definitely more to come in February. Or Nico? Surely you've heard something?

Yes indeed! Of course I don't want to give everything away, but: It's planned for the beginning of February that you'll be able to play as a different animal again! Of course, every animal has its original home again, just like it did back then!

Wow! That's fantastic! So dear Olokans! Prepare yourselves, there will also be great updates in February to complete the flash-free Oloko version.

The Closed Beta begins

Hello Olokians

Wow! Its been an incredibly long time since we were able to say that! Its been almost 4 years since Oloko.eu went offline!

Exactly, that unfortunately happened on December 28th, 2020. But now the Oloko free time is over! Oloko is returning!

Finally! And you dont even need the Flash player! The team behind Panfu.com continued working on a Flash-free version of Oloko in a new development environment a few weeks ago.

There is still a lot to do. Oloko is still in an early phase of development, but the Oloko team wants to let some players participate in the form of a closed beta so that you can tell the team directly what you like, what you dont like, where there are problems and so on.

But now youre probably wondering how you can gain access to the Closed Beta, right? Well, at the beginning, access to the Closed Beta is heavily limited so that the Oloko team can calmly test stability, work on bringing back more features, and fix bugs. As development progresses, the Closed Beta will gradually expand, allowing more players to join. And if everything goes well, Oloko will transition into an Open Beta without access restrictions over the course of next year.

These are the current requirements to participate in the closed beta, which begins in the evening hours of December 28, 2024:
-> Have an active Panfu.com account that has reached at least level 10.
-> Owning an active Discord account that is linked to Panfu. (You will also receive the access data & rules via the Discord)
->
Own and link a Panfu Patreon Level 2 (Panfu Explorer) or higher membership.

-> Knowledge of English as Oloko is currently only playable in English.

Please note that access restrictions can change at any time. To make it as fair as possible, the Oloko team has decided to go this route, so everyone can take part in the closed beta without having to be selected by luck.

Heres what you can currently do in Oloko:
-> Explore the World.
-> Grow products like wheat in your home.
-> Chat with other Olokians.
-> Perform actions like waving.
-> Take part in special events.

 And much more is coming soon!

We hope you enjoy the first phase of the closed beta despite it being an early development version. If there is any news, you will of course find it here on the Oloko blog (where you can already find out a lot about Oloko...) So check back regularly so you dont miss anything!
